SAN QUENTIN, Calif. –

An inmate escaped from the San Quentin State Prison was arrested Saturday afternoon in San Luis Obispo County as a result of a hunt for Man, announced the authorities.

San Rafael police confirmed to KGO that Shalom Mendoza was apprehended in a Taco Bell in Paso Robles.

Officials earlier announced that Mendoza had been seen at a Dollar store in San Miguel on Friday around 4:20 pm. where he bought dark clothes. The 21-year-old was no longer wearing the uniform of his prison.

The California police were looking for the 21-year-old escaped convict. The 2011 Toyota RAV4 silver bearing California registration number 6STZ502 that it would have carjacked was found abandoned north of Paso Robles on Friday.

Mendoza was serving a five-year prison sentence for using a deadly weapon during a carjack in Los Angeles County.

Prison officials did not explain how Mendoza had escaped, saying: "Mendoza was assigned to a work team outside the security perimeter, so he took advantage of that. "Go ahead." Before his capture, the authorities said they thought he was heading to the Los Angeles area.

A source told KGO that the detainee may have cleaned a sewage pumping station not far from the west gate of San Quentin.
