AnandTech resource shared information about the new Intel processor, which should soon be available on the market. No, it's not a new generation, but the processor is more interesting than recent GPU-free models at the price of GPU processors.
The model is therefore called Core i9-9990XE. By name, it is clear that it belongs to the Core X family and far exceeds the current flagship product, the Core i9-9980XE. But not everything is so simple. The fact is that the Core i9-9980XE has 18 cores and the Core i9-9990XE will have "only" 14 cores. And the number it will receive from the fact that the frequencies will be from 4.0 to 5.0 GHz, while the Core i9-9980XE-3.0 to 4.5 GHz. In simple terms, numbering is controversial, but it's up to Intel alone. In fact, we have the scattered version of the Core i9-9940X.
It is also known that the novelties of the TDP will be 255 watts, while the same Core i9-9980XE – 165 watts. But in the flagship models of Intel, these figures are rarely related to reality in the recent past, so that all will show tests. In any case, it will be a very hot processor, which is far from always being able to bypass the performance of the Core i9-9980XE because of the reduced number of cores.
It is also interesting to note that this processor will not appear. The source says that Intel will sell it exclusively to PC makers and in an auction format that runs once a quarter. And that means there is no fixed price. Only three manufacturers will participate in the first auction, the processor will obviously be very rare.
