DOUGLAS COUNTY, Wisconsin (WBAY) – Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald announced Thursday night that Jayme Closs, 13, was found alive.
Jayme had disappeared since October 15, when his parents had been murdered.
Sheriff Fitzgerald announced that she would be reuniting with family members later that evening.
Our sister station ABC of Minneapolis, in the KSTP, quotes a source claiming that a woman who was walking her dog on Thursday afternoon had been approached by a teenager shouting that A man murdered his parents.
The Douglas County Sheriff's Office reports that MPs identified Jayme and, 11 minutes later, arrested a suspect in the town of Gordon, 40 km south of Superior and about 60 km to the north from Barron.
Jayme's aunt, Jennifer Smith, told KSTP that Jayme had been taken to the hospital, but the authorities did not think she was hurt.
Jayme's grandfather, Robert Naiberg, said: "Everyone is so happy … We can not believe"
Hours Previously, Sheriff Fitzgerald had refuted rumors that a strong presence police officer in Walworth County, southeastern Wisconsin, would be linked to the Closs investigation. He called this "false news".

On Thursday evening, the Douglas County Sheriff's Department informed the Barron County Sheriff's Department that he had found Jayme Closs alive.
A short time later, a suspect was detained in connection with this case. We have no other details at the moment because it is a very fluid and active survey. We will not answer any questions or answer calls tonight.
We are planning a press conference at 10 am tomorrow at the sheriff's department in Barron. We continue to benefit from the help of FBI agents and WI DCI to continue our investigation.
We would like to thank the Douglas Co Sheriff Department and the organizations that assisted them tonight. We would also like to thank all the state and county law enforcement agencies who helped us in this case. We would not have been able to support this case without the support of the public and I would like to thank him for all the support and help he has received.

Smith told KSTP that the family wanted justice done for their sister and brother. -law who were murdered. She said the family is focused on Jayme's support.
The young teenager disappeared for 87 days. His disappearance united the people of Barron County and the state. County buildings have dedicated Christmas trees to Jayme, decorating them in her favorite colors and the word "Hope".
Two thousand people – law enforcement agents, first responders and volunteers – looked for possible clues. The FBI set up a hotline and thousands of tips were followed.
