Jazmine Barnes was shot dead last month in his family's car near Houston
Eric Black Jr, 20, acknowledged his involvement in the shooting and was charged with murder, the Sheriff's Office said of Harris County in a news release (19659007). ] Investigators believe that the attack on Jazmine's family could have been the result of a mistaken identity.

"At the time, the investigators did not think that Jazmine's family was the target of the shooting and that they had probably been killed by mistaken identity."
The Jazmine's funeral must be held on Tuesday.

The case sparked a public outcry and celebrities joined a call to find Jazmine's murderer using the hashtag #JusticeForJazmine. A rally in Houston on Saturday attracted about 1,000 people.
