The mishawaka teenager accused of stabbing and killing the mother of the unborn child was in court Tuesday.
The investigator said sixteen – The old Aaron Trejo stabbed Breana Rouhselang, 17, dead and then threw his body in a garbage bag and threw it into a dumpster neighbor.
She was six months pregnant.
The judge entered a plea of not guilty.
As Trejo does not have a lawyer at present, an automatic plea of not guilty has been filed. But this can be changed once it has been decided whether he will hire a public defender or hire his own lawyer.
Trejo appeared in court by teleconference and was kept separate from other inmates.
He was denied bail on the murder.
The judge stated that he was "high risk" because of the nature of the crime.
Trejo's family members were in the courtroom. They consoled themselves before the hearing and were visibly upset on leaving the courthouse.
A friend of Lean, brother of Breana Rouhselang, was also in the courtroom. She says she has a lot of questions.
"Why did he have to kill her? Why did not he want to have anything to do with the baby because it makes no sense, "said Kylie Guthrie, friend of Breana's brother:
When he was found guilty, Trejo could be sentenced to more than 80 years in prison.
He will be back in court next Wednesday.
