The number of people killed as a result of an avalanche struck by the Austrian ski resort of Lech am Arlberg has been increased to four.

This has been reported by the DW edition. On Wednesday, January 16, rescuers found the body of a fourth skier from southern Germany who had previously been missing.

The search for a 28-year-old man began on Saturday, January 12. His body was found under the snow at a depth of 2.5 meters. The bodies of three other German skiers were found on 13 January.

Previously, Channel 24 reported that four skiers were following the closed road and were not returning. They did not heed the warning about the threat of avalanches and the advice to ride only on open roads. Rescuers found the bodies of three tourists under avalanche avalanches.

The current snowfall in Austria and southern Germany has become the strongest of the last 20 years. At least nine people were killed, including a child shot dead by a tree in Bavaria.
