WASHINGTON – Congressional negotiators work toward an agreement on border security as the White House prepares to accept bipartisan agreement that would give President Donald Trump a fraction of the money claimed for the south border wall project.
Participants stated that they expect money for the construction of physical barriers to be well below the $ 5.7 billion required by Trump to begin construction of the wall, which now has emblematic significance for him and his conservative supporters. The amount appears to be approaching well over $ 1.6 billion, participants said, a figure that appeared in a bipartisan Senate bill last year
An agreement would also avoid a new partial closure of the federal government next weekend.
