Looked at the photo – helped by the hacker: Google has detected a new serious vulnerability in Android

Google has identified a serious vulnerability in the Android operating system, which allows you to execute arbitrary code on the smartphone of someone else if you wish.

This operation requires only an image. Of course, not everything is so simple. In fact, you need a specially configured PNG file, but there is enough to allow the user to open the image only.

Google states that it does not have information indicating that this vulnerability was used by someone somewhere. In the February security update, it had already been removed, but this update is far from reaching all smartphones, so Google does not reveal the details of the hole found.

We only know that this vulnerability is one of three errors found that affect the Android CVE framework. -2019-1986, CVE-2019-1987 and CVE-2019-1988. Until now, Google advises users to update their devices as soon as the appropriate firmware is available.
