The Montenegrin authorities will ask for restoration of the Montenegrin Orthodox Autocephalous Church, because the Serbian Orthodox Church undermines the country's independence. That's what President Montenegro's Milo Djukanovic told the RTCG.
"The Serbian Orthodox Church is persistently undermining the independence of Montenegro.I think it is necessary to continue the work of restoration of the Montenegrin Autocephalous Church, and the State will assume responsibility. " – Said Djukanovich.
The Montenegrin Orthodox Church is not recognized, although it was declared an autoclave in 1993. At the same time, the Serbian Orthodox Church is dominant in Montenegro.
