OSIRIS-Rex is collecting samples and data on the asteroid, which is then transmitted to Earth. In particular, he must take pictures of an asteroid, draw a map and touch once the surface of it to collect soil samples.

. The device will work until 2021 with the asteroid. After that, he will go to our planet, where he will land about 2023.
What is an asteroid of Benn? It belongs to the carbonaceous asteroids of the spectral class B. Such asteroids could be suppliers of complex organic compounds and water to the young Earth. The orbits of the Earth and Benny intersect – the probability of a collision with our planet is estimated between 1,000 and 4,000.
