Nathaniel Hendren: An officer in St. Louis accused of killing officer Katlyn Alix at play with a gun appears to have been injured on the back of the camera

The rifle did not fire. According to the statement, Alix took the gun, directed it to Hendren and pulled the trigger. Again, he did not shoot.

Hendren "retrieved the pistol and pointed it at the victim (and) pulled the trigger, allowing the pistol to discharge," the statement said. "The victim was hit in the chest."

Hendren's lawyer, Talmage E. Newton IV, issued the following statement:

The death of Agent Kaitlyn Alix was a tragic accident that invariably affected the life of everyone involved. I urge the public, as well as members of the police department, to wait until the investigation is complete and all the facts have been presented, before drawing any conclusions about what they think would have occurred this morning unfortunate.
