Russia places new nuclear missiles in Europe that can reach European cities
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said in a speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos at a round table on the future of the Transatlantic Alliance, reported by UNIAN.
He argued that NATO's most urgent challenge was the potential collapse of the Missile Treaty for the Middle East and Far East (DRSMD).
"The Intermediate Military Terminal Treaty This and the short-range are the cornerstone of arms control and our security," Stoltenberg said.
He recalled that this agreement prohibited all types of missiles.
"The problem now lies in the fact that Russia is placing new missiles in. At a meeting of NATO foreign ministers held last December last February, the United States has said that if Russia does not return to the task, the process of withdrawal of this treaty would begin, "said Mr Stoltenberg.
