Due to the death of Turkish citizens in the wake of fires on Maestro and Candy in the Black Sea, Ankara has Intended to send to the occupiers Russia to the Crimea its consuls, as Kiev has already announced.
Andrew Sibigha, Ambassador of Ukraine to Turkey, said this on Twitter.
"The Ukrainian side has been informed through the diplomatic channel of the intention of Turkish consuls to visit occupied Crimea in order to provide priority consular assistance to the victims of the death of Turkish citizens as a result of the Incident of two ships on January 21st, "he wrote.
Sibig stated that this would in no way affect the position of the Turkish authorities regarding the illegal annexation of Russia by Russia from the Ukrainian peninsula.
"This situation in no way changes Turkey's solid stance on Crimea, namely the refusal to recognize the annexation of the Ukrainian Peninsula by Russia and, according to the Turkish side, a mandatory step because of urgent humanitarian circumstances, "said the diplomat.
On January 21, two tankers under the Tanzanian flag, whose crew was composed of citizens of India and Turkey, flashed near the entrance to the Kerch Strait in the black Sea.
According to preliminary data, one of them was the victim of an explosion and subsequent combustion, after which the fire broke out on another ship.
According to the Ukrainian Ministry of Territories Occupied Temporarily, the oil tankers designated in 2016 were spotted during illegal shipments of gas to Syria.
As a result of the fire, 14 people died.
