A large crowd chanting "murderers" and bottles thrown at the Chicago police guarding the scene where an officer was shot dead by officers Saturday night in the South Shore neighborhood
Chappel Avenue shortly after 5:30 pm and took the victim, an adult man, to Jackson Park Hospital, where he will be declared dead, said Larry Merritt, a spokesman for the fire department.

The agents at the scene began working with the crowd, many of whom had "a false sense of what happened," Guglielmi said. "There was a lot of bad information out there, we have police officers, community affairs officers, trying to give them as much information as possible."
