The rail link between Ukraine and Russia will cease in any case – either by decision of the government or by Ukrainians themselves who will cease to visit the Russian Federation.
This was announced by the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine, Volodymyr Omelyan, on the ZIK television channel.
"This will be stopped in one way or another – either by the government's decision, or in fact, nobody will leave," said the minister.
According to him, the number of train journeys made by Ukrainians to the Russian Federation is "inexorably reduced".
Recall earlier, Omelyan announced its intention to stop the rail link with the capital of Russia, the city of Moscow.
Subsequently, the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine made a number of proposals to thwart the activities of Russia in the Azov Basin and in the occupied territories, notably the cessation of passenger traffic with the Russian Federation.
Meanwhile, the Russian Minister of Transport, Eugene Dietrich, said that the agency had developed measures to deal with a possible interruption by Ukraine of rail and bus connections with the Federation from Russia.
