Overdose of birds with prescription pills in Huntington Beach, California

This strange behavior caught the attention of the Huntington Beach neighbors in California before humans realized: These birds are intoxicated.

Residents do not seem to know how hundreds of pills got there.

It turns out that the goose and the gull had absorbed some of the hundreds of pills deposited this week at Carr Park, an urban green space with a playground and a small lake fishing about three miles from the Pacific coast.

The pills, which may have looked like grains for park birds, apparently included heart medications, antidepressants, anxiety and insomnia medications, as well as experts from the Wetlands & Wildlife Care Center posted on his Facebook page.
No. one of them seemed to know who had thrown the pills or on what date, CNN subsidiary KCAL / KCBS said.

After presenting the symptoms of an overdose, the Canada Goose and Ring-billed Gull received intravenous drips and improved on Thursday. The goose was already getting back on his feet, showed a picture.

Experts warned that there could be other birds that would have flown away after ingesting the pills. They urged neighbors to monitor any unusual behavior of the birds.
