This strange behavior caught the attention of the Huntington Beach neighbors in California before humans realized: These birds are intoxicated.
It turns out that the goose and the gull had absorbed some of the hundreds of pills deposited this week at Carr Park, an urban green space with a playground and a small lake fishing about three miles from the Pacific coast.
After presenting the symptoms of an overdose, the Canada Goose and Ring-billed Gull received intravenous drips and improved on Thursday. The goose was already getting back on his feet, showed a picture.
Experts warned that there could be other birds that would have flown away after ingesting the pills. They urged neighbors to monitor any unusual behavior of the birds.
