Ancient instruments and bones discovered in China suggest that the first peoples left Africa and arrived in Asia earlier than previously thought.
Artifacts were found by a team of scientists led by Professor Zhao Zhu of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. This includes Professor Robin Dennell of Exeter University, writes Science Daily.
Artifacts show that our ancestors colonized East Asia more than two million years ago. The instruments were discovered in an area called Shanchen in the South China Forest Plateau. The older one is about 2.12 million years old, 270,000 years older than the bone and stone tools of Domanis, Georgia, which were the first evidence of the emergence of the 39th anniversary. humanity outside Africa
. scrapers, but also relatively sophisticated tools – arrowheads, hammers, scissors and other objects. All signs show signs of use. Most guns were made of quartzite and quartz, probably from the foothills of the Qinglin Mountains. In addition, bone fragments of 2.12 million years were found
Most tools were made about 1.5 million years ago, after the so-called departure from the humanity of Africa. At the same time, six scrapers and chopped at a time, according to Dannell and his colleagues, were much older – their age was over 2.12 million years old.
"Our discovery shows that now we need to reconsider the moment when the first representatives our family left Africa and began to settle on Earth," said Robin Dennell of the United States. University of Exeter.
80 stone artifacts were discovered in 11 different soils of fossil soils. The layers containing these stone tools have been dated by linking the magnetic properties of the layers with known and dated changes in the Earth's magnetic field.
