A Navy bodyman missing since Sunday sent his parents a text message to say that he was alive.
Shaun Palmer, 24, who is stationed in Hawaii and assigned to the Marine Corps Base, sent a text message to her parents that said "I love you and I am alive," according to Khon 2. [19659002] Nayda Mannle, Special Agent of the Naval Crime Investigation Service (NCIS), said the text was received by Palmer's parents late Tuesday morning. Mannle said the search would continue until Palmer was found.
"His parents texted him so the interpretation is that he simply replied to let them know that he was alive and well," Mannle said. "That said, we still have not been able to locate it and we will continue these efforts."
Police say that there is no reason to suspect a criminal act. Palmer was last seen at a Waikiki bar after spending a night with his seafaring friends. According to ABC News her last verified location was that of Kelley O'Neill at 4 am Sunday morning
Elizabeth Diane Unterein, Palmer's mother, was active on social media to publicize her son gone. She tweeted early Tuesday : "I had news this morning that my son is being MISSED in Hawaii." I ask for prayers for my son Shaun Palmer and if you could SHARE this post To help me find it, he was last seen on Saturday night in Waikiki and his company commander called me this morning and told me that he had disappeared.

She also created a GoFundMe page to raise funds for a plane ticket to Hawaii. She set a goal of $ 2,000 and, at the time of writing, raised over $ 4,000.
After receiving Palmer's text, Unterein tweeted, "Update: I'm so happy. Shaun Palmer is LIVING. I have no details. Thank you for all your prayers and support. "
Unterein was briefed by the army on Monday morning and said that she immediately went through different scenarios in her head." Maybe he just went out and that 's right. he has drunk too much and he is going to show up … and he has not come, "she said, according to Khon 2." I'm trying to stay there. I'm trying to stay positive. Just please keep your eyes open for my son. "
Palmer is a corpsman of the hospital in the 1st Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment." He loves his job, he likes to be a corpsman, "said Unterein
NCIS did not immediately responded to a request for comment.
