The Orland Park police search for an armed man who shot and wounded a man near the food court inside the Orland Square Mall on Monday night, according to the head of the Assistant Police Joseph Mitchell.
Investigators do not know the reason for the incident. Shoot and do not know if she was targeted, but Mitchell says the shooting was an "isolated incident"
The detectives are watching a video surveillance inside the mall. The police search the area and escort the buyers nearby.
Mitchell did not have the age or condition of the person shot.
Several agencies responded to the call and the situation is still considered a shooting in the foreground, according to a spokesman for the Orland Park Fire Department.
Oscar Arribe of Oak Forest, said he heard the shots while he was on the first floor of the mall.
"I heard the shots. They came from above, "said Arribe. He said that he was hidden when he had heard the shots. He described the situation as agitation and chaos.
Diana Serna, who left the mall at around 7:30 pm, said she was barricaded in the JC Penney store with her family for about 40 minutes.
