About two-thirds of Republicans in Iowa said they would vote for President Trump

But the poll also reveals that 63 percent of Republican voters said the Iowa Republican Party should invite challengers to compete at Iowa caucuses 2020. Twenty-six percent said the party Republican of Iowa should discourage potential candidates to challenge Trump.
CNN notes that 72% of Republicans with a university degree state that the Republican Party of Iowa should host the challengers. In addition, he notes that the proportion of women (66%) who say they welcome challengers in party caucuses is higher than men (50%).
Trump's approval among Republican voters in the state seems to be strong in the new poll. Eighty-one percent of voters said they approve of Trump's work in the White House, while 14% disagreed.
The Iowa caucuses are scheduled to take place in February 2020.
The CNN / Des Moines Register / Mediacom survey was conducted between December 10 and 13 among a population of 450 registered Republican voters. The margin of error is 4.6 percentage points.
