Poroshenko said when he signed a law on the end of the treaty of friendship with Russia

According to the UNIAN correspondent, Poroshenko said during celebrations of the 150th anniversary of the establishment of the company Prosvita in Lviv

"Of course, the end of the treaty is symbolic . I called the law corresponding to the Verkhovna Rada, it was voted the day before and I will be signed on Monday, "said Poroshenko.

According to the head of state, the termination of the cooperation treaty with Russia is a "historical event"

As reported by U. NANA, on December 6, the Verkhovna Rada passed the law "On the termination of the treaty of friendship, cooperation and partnership between Ukraine and the Russian Federation ", presented by the President of Ukraine.

The law puts an end to the agreement of friendship, cooperation and partnership between l & # 's 39, Ukraine on 1 April 2019. and Russia, concluded in Kiev on 31 May 1997 and ratified by the Verkhovna Rada on 14 January 1998.

The law stipulates that the termination of the treaty is due to armed aggression of Russia against Ukraine, which constitutes a material breach of that treaty. [9008] The termination of the treaty Ukraine from any obligation to comply therewith and does not affect the rights, obligations or legal position of Ukraine arising from the execution of said agreement prior to its expiration, in accordance with Article 70 of the Vienna Convention on the Law of International Treaties.

The law comes into force the day after the day of its publication.
