Microsoft has patented a new electronic device designed to help people with Parkinson's disease – "portable device" or "smart clothing". This device is designed to suppress tremors in the joints or the entire limb of a patient. It will receive a signal from special sensors and, at the stage of development of spontaneous stroke attack, by mechanical stimulation of tactile sensations, will be able to suppress or reduce tremors.
The new invention is patented by the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Microsoft plans to equip the device with an active battery for at least a day. In addition, the device can be connected to a smartphone and thus control its operation.
Parkinson's disease is a slow-developing, chronic neurological disease that develops through the degenerative processes of the extrapyramidal motor system. Currently, despite the many studies and experimental techniques, doctors can only relieve the condition of patients and slow the rapid progression of the disease, but it is impossible to cure.
