The current was restored at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, Sunday, after days of prisoners without heating or lighting.

New York Attorney General Letitia A. James also criticized the situation .
"It is unacceptable, illegal and inhuman to detain people without basic services, access to counseling or medical care," she said in a statement.
