Microsoft is preparing a major upgrade, a service feature for creating PowerPoint presentations. The function "Live subtitles" will appear in the service.
The Verge edition speaks about it.
Users will be able to activate a new feature in January of next year. The function assumes that during a presentation at the bottom of the screen, viewers will be able to read what the speaker says. It will be useful for the hearing impaired, for those who are rarely able to perceive a foreign language, as well as for those with better visual memory.
In addition, Microsoft promises the possibility of simultaneous translation into another language. The function will work on the basis of artificial intelligence.
The creator of the presentation will be able to customize the appearance of the subtitles so that they match the design of the presentation. The voice recognition feature will support 12 languages and its textual translation will be available in more than 60 languages.
