Donald Trump canceled a full-format meeting with Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the G20 summit

He regretted not being able to communicate fully with Trump, as such a meeting had been long overdue.

Putin commented on the reasons for Trump's failure after extensive discussions, claiming that the US president is an experienced and mature man who is probably not afraid of anything.
"But, unfortunately, they were confronted with this provocation in the Black Sea, apparently for these reasons, the American side did not hold this meeting," said the President of the Russian Federation.
He expressed the hope that a meeting with Trump will take place when the US side will be ready to do it.
In Russia, they accused the Ukrainian side of dangerous maneuvers to enter the closed waters of the Russian territorial sea, calling Ukraine's actions in the Kerch Strait provocative.
Kiev and Moscow exchanged protest notes.
