Torrance, Calif. – A Los Angeles parolee was arrested as a result of a shooting at a Torrance bowling alley police announced Monday. Reginald Wallace, 47, was arrested Sunday by Torrance police, authorities said at a press conference.

CBS Los Angeles announced that he had been released in 2017 after being found guilty of assault. He is detained without bail.

The Torrance Police Service reacted shortly after midnight on Friday to gunshots at the Gable House Bowl, which features a bowling alley, a laser tag and a video arcade. They found seven people shot and wounded.

Three men were found dead at the scene and two others were taken to hospital, Sgt. Ronald Harris said. Two other men were shot but "chose to consult their own doctor".

Authorities did not identify victims or suspects, nor did they release details of the causes of the shooting. Witnesses said this was the result of a fight between two major groups.

Wes Hamad, a 29-year-old Torrance resident, was bowling with his 13-year-old niece and cousin when he saw a "gigantic fight" erupt. Hamad said the fight, which lasted about five minutes, blocked the entrance and turned into "total chaos".

"I caught my niece and I started running to the bottom of the bowling alley," he said. "While we were running, we heard 15 shots."

Sen. Kamala Harris, D-California, said her heart was breaking for the victims. "We need to do more to combat armed violence," she tweeted on Saturday. "Americans should be able to go bowling and be safe."
