Rudy Giuliani, President Donald Trump's lawyer and former mayor of New York City, hinted that his Twitter account had been compromised after his account inadvertently tweeted a link to an anti-Trump website.
"Twitter has allowed someone to invade my text with a disgusting anti-president message," Giuliani said on Twitter.
Giuliani seemed to be referring to a previous tweet sent Friday about the ongoing investigation of special advocate Robert Mueller on Russia. The investigation took a step Tuesday after Mueller filed a memo recommending that former national security adviser Michael Flynn not be sentenced to a jail term.
In his tweet, the president's attorney accused Mueller of the timing of the special advocate's legal proceedings, two of which were issued while Trump was traveling abroad.
Giuliani spoke of Trump's visit to the G-20 summit in Argentina last week, following the guilty plea of Trump's former lawyer Michael Cohen. and the Trump summit in Helsinki with Russian President Vladimir Putin in July, a few days after 12 Russian military officials were charged with hacking the computers of members of the Democratic Party.
