In recent years, the average thickness of smartphones has steadily declined and, to date, many smartphones have a thickness of 7 to 8 millimeters. This greatly complicates the design of the device because some components are difficult to place in such a slim housing. In particular, it is difficult to place a camera in a thin housing, which has led manufacturers to compromise in terms of design or technically complicated designs.
For example, many developers began to install the camera in a separate module, leaning to the back of the smartphone. Others have started to create alternative provisions for lenses. For example, Oppo recently introduced the design of a camera module with a reflector that sends a light emitting light at a 90-degree angle to the lens system, which is not located on the length of the body but along it. Thanks to this, the engineers managed to obtain an optical zoom multiplied by ten in this module.

Engineers Samsung has come up with a different concept that allows you to implement a lens in a smartphone with great multiplicity without increasing its thickness. Instead of placing the camera in the gadget itself, the developers have suggested inserting it into a stylus used on some smartphones, such as the Galaxy Note.
At the top of the stylus, the authors suggested placing the lens and created two circuits: one of these, the lens is located at the tip of the stylus and, in the second, on the near side side of the end:
Under the lens, is a fixed and moving lens system offering a variable focal length (zoom). Under the system is a photomatrix and under it the controller. In addition, in some circuits, a battery is described to power the components. It is assumed that the user will be able to remove the stylus from the smartphone and take a picture, after which the stylus will transfer the image to the smartphone.

Generally, most patents received by companies are not. realized like real devices. However, it should be noted that the concept presented does not seem to come true, because in the series smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 already has a similar stylus with controller, controller, Bluetooth and battery, which are loaded from the smartphone.
