W Press Secretary of the House of Representatives, Sarah Sanders, admitted Wednesday that she had misjudged statistics on border security in recent days.
Over the weekend, Chris Wallace verified the facts about Sanders about his claim that approximately 4,000 known or suspected terrorists were apprehended at the US-Mexico border.
"I should have said 4,000 at all points of entry, not just at the southern border," Sanders told Fox and his friends.
After a viral interview with Wallace, critics worry about the fact that this misleading claim could have been part of an effort to gain support for border funding, the Department of Homeland Security published a press release "MYTH / FACT". He explains that 3,755 known or suspected terrorists were prevented from entering the United States during fiscal 2017 and that the majority of them attempted to attack by air .
In the meantime, a senior administration official told CNN that, according to information provided by the government, 12 known or suspected terrorists were captured at the southern border between October 2017 and October 2018.
Illegal immigrants are on the terrorist list, even one of them presents a danger.
