White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said she believed God wanted Donald Trump to become president in an interview with Christian Broadcasting Network on Wednesday.
"I think God calls us all to fill different roles at different times and I think. that he wanted Donald Trump to become president, "said Sanders. "And that's why he's here and I think he's done a great job in supporting many things that really appeal to people of faith."
She also called Trump America's "most conservative president".
"There is a reason why the evangelicals stay with the president, that's because he has kept all his promises," she added.

A key element of the Trump Foundation, white evangelical Christians particularly support the President's call for a wall on the US-Mexico border. Earlier this month, the Washington Post announced that 67% of white evangelical Christians supported the Trump Wall, according to the latest survey conducted by the Public Religion Research Institute in September 2018.
Sanders, the daughter of a Southern Baptist pastor became governor, spoke of his faith in the past. In an interview with Baptist Press last year, Sanders said that she did not separate her faith from her work. "Because if you are a deeply rooted Christian, your faith is what defines you and I think it's something that I try to take with me in everything I do and that I do not separate certainly not when I go to work every day, "she said.
