A winter storm watch was in effect from Monday morning to Tuesday afternoon, with between 6 and 10 inches of snow that should fall in the Seattle area, reported Q13 News.

Seattle schools were closed Monday, as were other schools in the region, in anticipation of the winter blast.
Washington Department of Transportation officials told the Seattle Times that drivers had hit four snow plows in recent days, putting them out of service. Motorists are also advised to drive as if the roads were covered with ice because of hidden slippery areas.
