The Houston Police Department reacted to a shootout in southeastern Houston, during which several police officers were injured Monday night while they were serving a warrant. Police confirmed that five police officers were beaten and hospitalized, two in critical condition and three in stable condition.
Police say three suspects are involved in Monday night's incident.
Two of the suspects died, police said. KHOU-TV, a subsidiary of CBS. The suspects were reportedly barricaded in a house and police reportedly used a robot to secure the premises.
Officials said the shooting scene had been secured and residents would soon be allowed to enter the area, KHOU-TV said. The live updates follow below:
