OnePlus with its OnePlus 6 generation was an opportunity to conduct an interesting practical experience. The OnePlus 6T's McLaren, OnePlus 6T and OnePlus 6 phones have almost identical utensils – the most noticeable difference is only in the amount of RAM. The devices have respectively 10, 8 and 6 GB of RAM. Thanks to this, in practice, the difference between the speed of the smartphone has been increased with the increase of the RAM size.
OnePlus 6 smartphones run on the same Snapdragon 845 chipset. On all three devices, the same tests were done with the processor and the video card. To do this, smartphones run the Speed Test G performance test simultaneously, which allows you to determine actual performance.
The OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition with 10GB of RAM was a little faster in the middle stages, but all three smartphones were tested at the same time.
Experts conclude that speed of operation does not affect the amount of RAM. However, this does not mean that the increase in the number of "operational" operations is superfluous – its volumes are affected by other factors that affect performance in real life. For example, the more gigabytes of RAM you have, the more you can keep a large number of browser attachments and tabs without unloading and switching almost instantly between them.
