A big storm brought Saturday to California a driving rain, strong winds and heavy snow in the mountains. A series of storms is expected to have a new impact on the region in the coming days.
Saturday's rain caused floods in Malibu on the Los Angeles River in Glendale, as well as rushing waters on the Pacific Coast Highway. The storm caused devastating winds in southern California, with gusts of 130 km / h at Point Conception, nearly 18 inches of fresh snow fell at Mammoth Mountain and a possible tornado was reported at Acton.
The rain came at a particularly intense pace, with 0.23 inches of rain in 10 minutes in Beverly Hills, 0.31 inches of rain in Malibu in just five minutes and half an inch of rain in five minutes in Santa Barbara.
Multiple systems will bring more waves of uncertain weather conditions to the western United States until Tuesday. Heavy rains affect much of California's coast on Sunday morning, with the heaviest rains between San Francisco and Los Angeles.
Warnings, watches and winter storm warnings, as well as flood and wind warnings, are in effect in most of the western United States over the next few days .
