The Tempe Police Department broadcast a video recording of the incident on the body camera
The agent, identified only as Jaen, responded to a call from A citizen reporting a suspicious vehicle and approached a gray Chevrolet pickup apparently involved in a burglar parked in an alley, Sylvia Moir, chief of Tempe police, said at of a press conference.
The video shows the officer sheltering behind a trash can while the teenager comes out of the truck. The officer is heard asking the teen to raise his hands while he is leaking Jaen.
"He has a gun," Jaen said on the set.
The pistol was a replica of the 1911 airsoft pistol that the teenager had just stolen from the truck, Moir said. She said that he had other objects stolen from him.

Mayor of Tempe Mark Mitchell said he had joined the family in mourning, which he identified as being Antonio Arce.
