AUSTIN (Texas) – The State of Texas has removed from its Capitol a plaque stating that the Civil War was not about slavery but that she asks the public what should be done with it.

The state representative, Rafael Anchía, a Democrat who represents a district of the Dallas area, provided this overview .

While Republican Rep. Kyle Biederman, representing parts of central Texas, objected to the removal of the plaque, as the Texas Tribune reported : "I Just believe that the removal of this plaque marks the beginning of the rest of the monuments and the rest of the story being erased from Texas, I do not think this plaque is as inaccurate as everyone claims. "
