In the audio recording, issued Wednesday by the Monmouth County Attorney's Office, the man told the operator that & ### He had seen smoke coming out of the back of Caneiro's home. He also said that a "person is lying down" in the front yard.

"Oh, my God, there is blood here," we hear, raising our voices. "It's a corpse, it's dead, someone died here."

The expert asked the man to go to a safe zone, according to the audio.

Authorities said last week that 51-year-old Paul Caneiro had killed his brother, then Jennifer Caneiro, Keith's wife, and their two children, Jesse and Sophia. They were all found dead on November 20th.

Prosecutors said Keith, 50, was shot dead. Jennifer Caneiro, 45, was stabbed and injured. The children, Jesse, 11, and Sophia, 8, were stabbed to death. Jennifer's bodies and children were discovered inside the family's burning mansion.

Paul Caneiro is charged with first degree murder. degree of possession of a firearm for illegal purposes, possession of a third-degree knife for illegal purposes and a charge of second-degree aggravated fire. He pleaded not guilty to his first appearance in court last month.

Investigators said that after killing family members, Paul Caneiro lit a fire in his brother's house. According to the prosecutors, he then went to his home in Ocean Township and lit a fire.

Monmouth County Attorney Christopher J. Gramiccioni said he believed the motive was financial. The Caneiro brothers owned two companies together, a pest control company and a technology company.
