The International Union of Biathletists (IBU) officially asked the forces of the order Austrian to explain what the Austrian police was doing on the site where was the Russian biathlon team.

It was reported previously that the Austrian police had accused several Russian biathletes, as well as coaches, doctors and masseurs, of opposing the anti-doping rules at the Biathlon World Championships held in Hochfilzen in 2017. Russian biathletes have already been charged with doping. For this reason, Oleksandr Loginov and Irina Staryh were not allowed to participate in international competitions. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has banned Tirupulin, Garanichev and Loginov from taking part in the 2018 Pyongchang Olympics as part of investigations into the use of doping in Russian sports.
