KYIV. July 10th UNN. The new champion of Ukraine BC Cherkassy Monkey will return to Eurocup after a ten-year break, participating in the Fiba European Cup. Eurocups can play two clubs, and it is the champion of Ukraine – "Cherkassy Monkeys" and the winner of the Cup of Ukraine – Dnipro. Cherkasy have applied for the FIBA European Cup and have undergone all legal procedures. Already on July 31, we will know from which stage of qualification for the Eurocup will start the fight "Cherkassky Monkeys", there is a chance for the champion of Ukraine to start his fight and already of the tournament of main grid. Today, FIBA is forming groups and qualifying stages.
The second most important international tournament of the FIBA, the Cup of Europe, needs a gaming room of 1500 seats for the spectators. In this context, the Cherkassy subsidiary "Budivelnik" will work to increase the sieges from 1200 to 1500.
Note that the Cherkassy monkeys played for the last time in Eurocups 10 years ago. During the 2007-2008 season, Cherkassy successfully qualified for the same tournament, beating Apoel (Cyprus), and finished the group stage in 3rd place. Then Cherkassy won three wins with three losses.
