On the weekend, the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) set the official exchange rate of the US dollar to the hryvnia: 28.22 UAH / dollar, 17 kopecks less than the previous working day .

Previously we reported that on November 27, Ukraine had put into circulation two new commemorative coins – face value 10 and 5 hryvnias.

The two pieces were therefore manufactured in the honor of one of the oldest fortification buildings in the Khmelnytsky region – the Medzhybozh castle, according to the telegram of the National Bank No. 50-0027 / 62506.

It should be noted that a coin of 10 hryvnias is silver 925 a sample of 31.1 g, a diameter of 38.6 mm. Of these, 3000 will be struck.

A 5-hryvnia consists of a germanium of a weight of 16.5 m and a diameter of 35 mm. This coin will be issued in larger quantities – 40,000 coins.

Note that these two coins constitute a complete payment instrument and must be accepted both as banks and on the commercial network of the country.

We recall that the financial experts worry about the situation, which has recently developed on the foreign exchange market in Ukraine, because the exchangers and banks have massively caught counterfeit money. Often, crooks simulate hryvnia of big denominations – 200 and 500 notes.

According to the portal Znay.u, in 2018, the number of counterfeit banknotes in hryvnia removed from circulation would have fallen by nearly a third and, in monetary terms, counterfeiting would have decreased by 48%.

In addition, the portal Znay.u wrote that the National Bank of the Czech Republic had decided to put into circulation, in the autumn of 2018, new effects of two denominations – 100 and 200 crowns. The new banknotes will be different from the previous ones, whose issuance was regular from 1993 to 1998.
