The Border Patrol transferred Felipe and his father to the Alamogordo Border Patrol Station in Alamogordo, New Mexico , to finalize the treatment. They were transferred due to the capabilities of El Paso Station.
Alamogordo is about 80 miles from the El Paso train station.

Felipe appeared to be nauseated and vomited. The agents were aware of it and helped clean up the vomit. Her father refused any additional medical assistance, the child feeling better now.
10 pm
Felipe again seemed lethargic and nauseated.
Due to the lack of emergency medical personnel, the officers were out of order, out of caution. made the decision to send Felipe and his father back to the Gerald Champion Regional Medical Center.
During his transportation to the hospital, he began to vomit and lost consciousness.

The radio reported that the officer had arrived at the medical center, where he had been greeted by the hospital staff.

Hospital staff members were not able to revive Felipe and declared him dead.

The Consulate of Guatemala was contacted about the death of the child. His father is currently detained at Alamogordo Station while awaiting his transfer to the law enforcement and removals operations of ICE. He spoke to his wife in Guatemala and the Guatemalan consulate.
