According to the executive director of Transparency International Ukraine Andriy Borovik, "such a result does not correspond to the Ukraine's declared commitment to rapid European integration, reforms and the purification of corruption in all spheres of life If the situation of corruption in Ukraine continues to evolve at such a pace, it will take more than a decade to catch up with Poland. The government should, and civil society has long been ready to redouble efforts in this direction. "
The growth of Ukraine's performance is due in particular to the assessment of the business situation. This is highlighted by the analysis of the research, on the basis of which the index was calculated. The positive effect was the introduction of the automatic VAT refund procedure and the extension of the scope of the ProZorro and ProZorro systems: sales and activities of the Institute of Business Ombudsmen. Ukraine has passed the relevant legislation, but the full launch of the High Court Anti-Corruption has been postponed until 2019.
