Mariupol Football Federation President Vassili Zhuravlev, famous for criticizing Dynamo Kiev and the Surkis brothers, is officially registered as a candidate for the presidential election of Ukraine on March 31.
The decision was taken Wednesday at a meeting of the Central Election Commission of Ukraine. Zhuravlev is a candidate of the party "Stability", created in 2016.
Zhuravlev sent a letter to UEFA President Ceferin, asking to check the possible violation of the Dynamo rules in the FFP.
In his commentary, Football 24 Zhuravlev said that residing in his region "knows how to bring peace to Donbass". At the same time, he stressed that he considered Russia as an enemy and an aggressor. He pointed out that in his capacity as a football official, he is part of the team of the president of the FFU, Andrei Pavelko, but does not mix football and politics.
"I am present in the country's football life, Mariupol, Donbass, and consider myself a member of Pavelka's team because he is head of the Football Federation Ukraine, yes, Pavelko is a member of the Bloc Petro Poroshenko faction, but that does not mean that I do not support or fully support Something I agree with something – no, just for me football is football and the Politics is politics, I always share these things and my political views may spill over with Pavelka's views, but may not coincide, "he said.

Zhuravlev said that in order to make a deposit of 2.5 million UAH in participation in the elections, he took out an interest-free loan and declared that neither the oligarchs nor the "pro-government structures" supported him. By the way, at the Mariupol Mayor's elections in November 2015, Zhuravlev only got 5th place, with support of 1.8% (2,281 voters).
