The Ukrainian basketball team in the second round of the qualifying match for the 2019 World Cup was played in Tenerife c. Spain. The Ukrainians gave way in an uncompromising fight, even if they had good chances of victory.

At the end of the quarter, the guests managed to reduce the gap to 3 points, but the Spaniards all managed and won the match in ten minutes at 54:48. The only local success of Ukraine is the fact that they won the fifth quarter of 15:17 time.

Ukraine has reduced the gap to the minimum and even eventually equaled the score of 60:60. However, the Spaniards managed to come back to +6. In the last 2 minutes, the Ukrainians came back to the game with good attacks. In particular, for 13 seconds before the end of the match, Sergei Murysin's protections scored two free-kicks and then possession of the ball. Sanctions successful to achieve, but to embody possession – no. The referee found a violation of the rules by the guests and imposed penalties in favor of Spain, which they enforced.
