ZAZ has been part of "Komi" for over a year.
The first month of 2019 became an absolute failure for the Zaporozhye automobile factory. According to Ukr.Media, no new ZAZ vehicle has been sold since the beginning of the year.
Thus, ZAZ has definitely left the new car market in Ukraine and will not be able to buy a new car of this brand.
ZAZ Sens latest cars came out late 2017, after which the factory stopped production of cars and deployed car stocks. Dealers can still find the ZAZ Pick-up and ZAZ Vida Cargo vans, but their stocks are already depleted. But the production of passenger cars and vans is stopped. The consequences of this state have already had an impact on the market. In 2018, only 545 passenger cars and 182 vans were sold in Ukraine (727 units in total, or 0.84% of the market). This figure is lower than that sold in Ukraine by Land Rover, Volvo and Subaru. With ZAZ's production capacity of 120,000 cars a year, these volumes are nothing.
A year earlier, ZAZ owned 2.3% of the Ukrainian market and had sold nearly 2,000 cars. In its best year (2007), ZAZ produced 282,000 cars, taking into account large-wheel sets, and exported 70,000 cars. In the Ukrainian market, ZAZ then took 20% and was among the top 3 best-selling brands.
