Negotiations with Canada on the establishment of a visa-free regime for Ukraine are in stalemate.
Ukrainian Ambassador to Canada Andriy Shevchenko announced it in an interview with Ukrinform.

"We are working on the issue of visa cancellation for Ukrainians. not much progress in reducing the number of failures.I have not yet received the definitive statistics for 2018, but according to the results of the first three quarters, the number of refusals of Ukrainians in Canadian visas was 26%, "said the diplomat.
In Shevchenko's opinion, it is rather strange that, while having good relations with Ukraine, Canada often refuses visas for Ukrainians.
I consider this indicator (visa refusal – channel 24) too high and I see no concrete argument to justify it. The level of inter-state relations and interpersonal relations between citizens does not allow such a high number of refusals to be considered satisfactory and we continue to work with the Canadian government on this issue
