The new Supra may not look like an iconic Mk4. The FT-1 concept of 2016 was the main source of inspiration. And this concept has already been well tested in production.
The Supra headlamps, the carbon fiber separator and the roof were moved virtually unchanged with the FT-1. Supra lost only one piece of the FT-1's nose, as it now has an extra grille and a Toyota logo. The same goes for the rear end, the thin taillights, the spoiler and the low-light stop light.
At the same time, the interior has changed slightly. Supra, which has the same platform as the new BMW Z4, also has similarities to the German sports car. A good group of digital instruments should display items such as G force, circle time, and so on. The only significant sign on the Mk4 is a pilot-oriented device location. and the door panel and center console are placed around the driver.
The Supra chassis and suspension were developed alongside Gazoo Racing. Here you can find a typical multi-lever rear suspension, but the front features a unique dual suspension mount with two luggage racks. All versions of the standard Supra will have two adjustment modes: Normal and Sport.
The new Supra also gets a 3.0-liter six-cylinder in-line engine from BMW's turbocharger, although the power is slightly tighter. Supra produces 335 hp and 365 Nm of torque (vs. 382 hp and 369 Nm in the Z4), and features an 8-speed automatic transmission. Toyota is expecting the new sports car to reach 100 km / h in 4.1 seconds.
