In 2019, the GR Supra Super GT concept car was presented for the first time at the Tokyo Motor Show. This prototype presents the racing version of the new generation of Toyota Supra for the Japanese Super GT Championship. The A90 model debuted there during the 2020 season.
In Super GT, whose technical regulations will be unified with the German DTM, the new Supra will replace the Lexus LC coupe. This sports car will continue to be in the GT500 category in 2019, but the next will replace the Toyota model.
This is not the first race prototype based on the Toyota Supra, whose serial version is still not presented. GR Supra Racing debuted in Geneva in 2018, announcing the modification of the new Toyota Gazoo Racing unit coupe in road sports.
Mid-2018, Toyota announced that the new Supra would replace the Camry sedan of the NASCAR Xfinity American series.
The first of the modification of the sports car route is scheduled for 14 January. At the Detroit Auto Show, in a few days, the same Toyota Supra will appear, whose shape is more or less clear after many spy photos and a series of shooting origins official.
