Jackson withdrew his appointment as secretary of the VA at the end of last April amid allegations. Trump fiercely defended Jackson against the charges, calling him "one of the most refined men I've ever met".
He no longer serves as Trump's personal physician, but he remains a Navy doctor assigned to the White House. Marine Cmdr. Sean Conley is now the president's doctor.
Jackson has been a doctor at the White House since 2006 and was promoted by former President Obama in 2013 to the presidential doctor's post.
