On Monday, President Trump described as "false news" the recent report that Attorney General Matthew Whitaker was flogged.
"I have never criticized the acting Attorney General of the United States, a man I have a lot of respect for," tweeted Trump. "It's an invented story, among many others, by the Fake News Media! "
This tweet comes after CNN reported that Trump had voiced his anger over Whitaker for the ongoing developments in the case relating to him. Former President's Lawyer and Fixer, Michael Cohen
According to the report, "Trump was frustrated, the source said, that prosecutors overseen by Matt Whitaker have filed lawsuits to cheat." None of the sources have hinted that the president had ordered Whitaker to end the investigation, but had instead criticized what he considered an unfair situation. "
